We were waiting (eagerly waiting) for this world cup. We want the team India to bring back the CUP. We are praying for it from last 28 years. We have the best batsmen in team, one of the most sucessful Captain in team, renowned bowlers. so whatever we are expecting is what the Team deserves.
Following is the journey of Indian team in 2011 Cricket world cup
First world cup 2011 match Bangladesh Vs India in Dhaka on 19th Feb 2011.
Bangladesh won the toss and elecetd to field. With Bangladesh, We started with a Huge score of 370 runs, Sehwag did a wonderful job with 175 run in just 140 balls who was acconpanied by Virat Kohali with his not out 100 (his world cup debut hundered).
In bowling also, Zaheer thrashed bangaldesh team by taking 4 wickets in 10 overs, Yusuf Pathan also took 2 wickets. Finally we won the match by
That was the huge start and warning for all other teams that world cup is ours.

Match with England in Bengaluru on Feb 27, 2011
India won the toss and elected to bat first
India scored 338 runs in 49.5 overs. Sachin and Sehwag started the inning with pace and managed to score 46 in 47 balls. After Sehwag's dismissal Gambhir joined Sachin's troop and scored 51 runs. Sachin scored 120 runs in 115 balls (47th ODI hundred). Yuvi's 58 runs in 50 balls made India's scrore to 238.
In fielding, we made lot of mistakes and and bowlers also could not take wickets. England's batsmen were easily hitting the balls and scoring runs. Last over was handed over to Munaf when England was needing 14 runs. Engalnd managed to score 13 runs and mtach resulted in draw.

India Vs Ireland in Bengaluru on Mrach 6. India won the toss and elecetd to field.
In league matches Ireland beat England. Yuvraj' superb all round perforamnce helped India to win the match. Yuvi scored 50 runs in 75 deliveries.
From bowling side, Piyush took 3 wickets and Yuvi , Munaf, Zaheer and Harbhajan took one wicket each. India won by 5 wickets

India Vs Netherlands March 9 in New Delhi
Netherlands won the toss and elecetd to bat first and scored 189 in 46.4 overs. Zaheer the star bowler of India cricket team took 3 wickets. Yuvraj and Piyush also took 2 wickets each.
Virender started teh inning with 4s and 6s but managed to score 39 runs in 26 balls. Once again Yuvraj played 51 runs in 73 balls which helped India to score 191 in 36.3 overs by loosing 5 wickets.

India Vs South Africa March 12, on VCA stadium in Nagpur.
India won the toss and elected to bat first. Virender Sehwag and sachin Tendulkar started the inning with boudaries. Sehwag scored 73 runs in 66 balls and returned to pavilion breaking teh partnership of 142 runs in just 106 balls. Sachin once again played his natural game and hit 48th century. Scored 111 in 101 balls. Another star in this match is Gautam Gambhir who scored 69 runs in 75 balls. India managed to score 296 in 48.4 overs and lossing all the wickets
From bowling side, Zaheer took wicket when India team actullay needing it, Harbhajan took 3 wickets and Munaf patel managed to send back two batsmen. Needing 13 runs in last over, Dhoni handed over the ball to Ashish Nehra. Robin Peterson scored 16 runs in just 4 balls and changed the match . Overall England scored 300 runs in 49.4 overs loosing 7 wickets.
Man of the Match : D Steyn
India Vs West Indies March 20, In ChennaiThis is the last league match of this tournament. India won the toss and elected to Bat first. Once again Sachin Tendulkar showed his sportmanship, he walked off the ground even if umpire was uncertain about his caught behind. Sehwag didnot played this match because of injury. It was Yuvi and Virat Kohli who played magnificantly against the west indies bowling attack. Virat scored 59 in 76 deliveries and Yuvi hit his 13th ODI century. India managed to score 268 loosing all wickets in 49.1 overs.
West Indies team was not in form which is shwon in their batting also. Other than D Smith and R Sarwan, nobody could managed to score more than 25 run on score board. D Smith scored 81 runs in 97 balls and R Sarvan 39 runs in 68 balls. Their total score was 188 for 10 in 43 overs. Zaheer took two wickets.
India won the match by 80 runs,

India managed to grab the 2nd place in group B. Now ready for playing its quarter final with 3 times World Champs Australia. Australian team are well known for their dominance in cricket world cup. Negative for them is their form and most of their well known players are now out of the team. Ricky Ponting was (yes was) a successful Captain but now he is struggling with his form.
Before match, as per startegy Ricky Ponting made statement against Indian Cricket team and master blaster Sachin Tendulkar.
Australia won the toss and elected to bat. Haddin played opener's cricket and scored 53 run in 62 deliveries. Ricky ponting played captians' part and scored his century after more than a year. He scored 104 in 118 balls when Ashwin made him to walk to pavilion. Hussey (38 run in 26 balls) palyed some extremely big shots. Australia scored 260 for 6 in 50 overs.
Chasing 261 for vicory, India started inning with plan. Sehwag lost his wicket on just 15 run. Sachin then started smashing shots. People were expecting his 100th century in the same match but Tait got Sachin out on 53 runs in 68 balls. Half-centuries from Sachin Tendulkar (53), Gautam Gambhir (50) and Yuvraj Singh (57 not out) helped the team to score 261 run in 47.4 overs loosing 5 wickets.

Semi Final
Pakistan defeated West Indies in quarter final and qualified for semifinal.
Its really a treat to watch cricket match between two rivals India and Pakistan. India and Pakistan were playing world cup semifinal. Every body was expecting it as a high pressurised, dramatic game.
India won the toss and elected to bat.
Sehwag started the inning with his smashing 4s. Sehwag and Sachin was scoring runs from each and every delivery. Shewag scored 20 runs in Gul's second over. India's score was 48 in just 35 balls when Sehwag got out. After sehwag, Sachin kept his pace of scoring runs. After 11th over India's score was 100. Pakistani player were under pressure and did mis fielding, dropped catches.
From other side, there were no support to Sachin. Sachin was very lucky in this game, his 4 catches were dropped out on the field. But finally Afridi caught his wicket on Ajmal's delivry. Sachin were 85 run in 115 balls. Suresh Raina proved his selection in the team by scoring 36 not out in 39 balls in highly pressure game. India could not take advantage of the smashig start and could manage to score 260 run in 50 overs. Wahab Riaz took 4 wickets and Ajmal took 2 wickets.
Chasing 261, pakistan started their inning playing some good hits. Zaheer took Akmal's wicket when he was on 19 runs. Indian bowlers took wickets after reegular intervals, which put pressure on pakistani players. Ashiq and U Akmal scored 30 and 29 runs respectively. Misbah UL Haq was managed one side but didnot get support from otehr side. He scored 56 runs in 76 runs. He played big shots in last few overs. Virat caught him on Zaheer's bowling.
India won the match by 29 runs. In world cup India never lost a match to Pakistan. This was fifth match.

ICC World Cup Final 2011
India Vs Shrilanka, 2nd April on Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai
This important match started in the presence of Honorable President of India Mrs Pratibha Patil and Honorable President of ShriLanka Mr Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The match started with confusion over toss and first time in Cricket history toss was perforamed twice that is also in world cup final. First time Dhoni spun the toss and sangakara mumbled his call but match referee did heard Sangakara's call. So Dhoni tossed the coin second time. Sangakara won the toss and elected to Bat.
Considering the pitch condition and atmosphere in Mumbai, both the Captains were eager to bat first.
ShriLankan opening team could not do anything in Zaheer's first over. Zaheer's first over was maiden. Shreesantha bowled very well in first spell. Zaheer took Thiranga's wicket in first ball of his third over. Indian bowlers managed to hold Shrilankan team to run only 31 runs in 10 overs. Bhajji took second wicket for India. Under pressure Srilankan team as both the openers were sent back to pavilion got some relief when they got 2 good scoring overs from Bhajji and Shreesantha. Jayawardene showed his ability and talent in this match scoring 103 in 88 balls even in adverse conditions.
Shrilanka scored 91 runs in last 10 overs and managed to built score of 274 with 6 wickets.
Sehwag and Saching started the inning for cahsinga target of 275 run in 50 overs. Sehwag (0)lost his wicket second ball of first over itself. Gambhir joined Sachin on the field. Sachin played some shots but Malinga dismissed sachin by letting him caught behind. Virat Joined Gambhir for a tough task. But these youngees showed good cricket and created scoring partnership. Both were playing small shots but taking ones and twos in each delivery and scoring 4s on weak deliveries. After 11 overs India were 50 for 2. Dilshan caches Virat (35) on his own bowling which Braings Mr colls MS Dhoni on field. On 97 Gambhir tried to play a big shot lost his stumps(missed by 3 runs to score a tonn in world cup final)
Yuvi joind the field when required run rate is slighlty above. Dhoni scored some runs by hitting good shots. Mandatory power play stared with 46th over. Requiring 3 runs to win, Dhoni slams a big six and won the final by 6 wickets and become world cup champion. His six showed the world that here are new champions. Dhoni scored 91 runs in 77 balls.
After this six, a big celebrations started on the ground and every corner of India. After 28 years, India become Cricket world champion again.
Yuvi, Bhajji, Sachin couldnot control their emotions and tear in their eyes.
The team India thanked the audience and the countrymen for their support and belief in them.
